Research Goal
The possibilities of information presentation and visitor participation in a museum have been extended through usage of modern information and communication technologies. Within the project Blended Museum we examine how the general visitor experience can be increased by employing novel distributed user interfaces.

- Teaching: Media Exhibition Design (see also mediale-ausstellungsgestaltung.de)
Together with the "HTWG - University of applied sciences", we established an interdisciplinary course of studies which consists of lectures and practical projects. One goal of these studies is to bring students from heterogeneous disciplines together. This disciplines are in detail: Communication Design, Architecture, Historical Sciences and Human-Computer Interaction. This interdisciplinary approach is supervised by Prof. Reiterer (Human-Computer Interaction); Prof. Hauser (Historical Sciences) and Prof. Schlag (HTWG & Atelier Brückner). - Workshop Blended Museum
As part of the conference INFORMATIK2017 - DIGITALE KULTUREN we organized our first BLENDED MUSEUM workshop. (Workshop Website) - Cooperation with the "Badisches Landesmuseum" (BLM) Karlsruhe (Website)
Together with students, we develop a new concept for the permanent exhibition of prehistory and early history.
With the participation of the Human-Computer Interaction Group several exhibition have been created during the last years
Exhibition: YOUTOPIA
Duration: 14 July 2023 – 22 October 2023 (Turm zur Katz, Konstanz)
The interactive exhibition "YOUTOPIA - Stadtvisionen erleben" explores the question of what an ideal city might look like - in the past, present and future. The different perspectives on utopian city concepts are intended to inspire the audience to think about and design their own future utopia.

Exhibition: STAYIN' ALIVE
Duration: 29 Juli 2021 – 03 Oktober 2021 (Turm zur Katz, Konstanz)
The exhibition " STAYIN' ALIVE - mit Seuchen leben" deals with a timely and relevant topic: Pandemics. The exhibition invites visitors to dispute with the current COVID-19 pandemic as well as past pandemics from ancient times to the present age.

Exhibition: LINK
Duration: 03 Juli 2019 – 08 September 2019 (Turm zur Katz, Konstanz)
The exhibition "link - zur künstlichen intelligenz" explores the connection, the link, between the abstract theme of Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and the personal points of contact with the everyday life of the visitors. Whoever enters the exhibition expects a demystification process: the visitors go on an exciting, multimedia journey that leads from the beginnings of A.I. as a consequence of mechanisation to the achievements and areas of application of A.I. in the present day.
The exhibition is a result of a colloboration between the history department (Dr. Jan Behnstedt & Dr. phil. Ulf Hailer) and the architecture & communications design departments of the HTWG Konstanz (Prof. Eberhard Schlag). The exhibition was called "link - zur künstlichen intelligenz" (Website).

The exhibition is a result of a colloboration between the history department (Prof. Dr. Stefan Hauser) and the architecture & communications design departments of the HTWG Konstanz (Prof. Eberhard Schlag). The exhibition was called "Rebuild Palmyra" (Website).

Exhibition: Tell Genderes
Duration: 19 Dezember 2015 – 31 Januar 2016 (Turm zur Katz, Konstanz)
The exhibition is a result of a colloboration between the history department (Prof. Dr. Stefan Hauser) and the architecture & communications design departments of the HTWG Konstanz (Prof. Schlag). The exhibition was called "Tell Genderes" (Website).
Exhibition: Fernbeziehung
The biggest exhibition which has been conducted together with the department of Media Studies (Dr. Kümmel Schnur) and the architecture agency "Jangled Nerves" was called "Fernbeziehung" (Website).
