Talk of Thomas Geis, Procontext GmbH

Thomas Geis

Procontext GmbH

Talk of Mr. Thomas Geis, Procontext GmbH. Mr. Geis is an expert on usability engineering.
About his company:
ProContext is a management consultancy which enables complex projects to produce successful results by employing user centred methods for analysis, conception and design. We typically accompany development projects for interactive products including hardware and software but also development projects for services.
Through requirements management from the user's perspective we identify contextual requirements which are success critical for efficient support of targeted users. Contextual requirements are typically unknown or "hidden" in the context of use for a product or service. Our methodological approach to context analysis directly identifies those requirements in a cost efficient manner which removes unnecessary efforts and endless discussions among stake holders based on assumptions about customer requirements.
ProContext employs the Context-Scenario-Method for analysis & design which has been developed by members of staff of ProContext. Our approach is industry proven and continuously improved under scientific monitoring.
Our customers are our references. We transfer our knowledge and experience into our customer organisations to establish sustainable project maturity. This is achieved by pilot projects where we take over the responsibility for requirements management followed by in-house training and coaching of those people who are supposed to take over responsibilities within requirements management and user centred design. On top of this we conduct public seminars offered by the German academy of informatics.
For long years our members of staff are key players for user centred design in standardization in Germany (DIN, DATech) as well as International (ISO).
