Mixed Reality Lab
Embodied Cross-Reality Interactions
Room: ZT 701
Situated in one of the most modern buildings on the campus, the Mixed Reality Lab offers lots of room for exploring infinite virtual worlds through immersive technologies. Advanced tracking systems (e.g., Optitrack) enable high-fidelity tracking of the user, tools and objects, to support live animation of virtual characters and the integration of physical objects in the virtual environment. A variety of state-of-the-art head-mounted displays (e.g., Hololens, HTC Vive) allow us to explore the entire spectrum of mixed realities, from AR to fully immersive VR. Combining this with large touch displays and mobile devices, we can create transitional and hybrid user interfaces for single users or multi-user collaboration. Spectators can observe the user's interaction in the virtual world through large displays, making this an excellent location for research demos, but also for presentations, workshops, teaching, and user studies.
