Welcome to the Human-Computer Interaction Group

Our goal is to conceive, develop and evaluate novel concepts for human-computer interaction that dissolve the user interface as a barrier between real and virtual, and instead allow the user to seamlessly transition between different realities. We call this extended form of interaction “Embodied Cross-Reality Interaction” and the supporting user interfaces “Transitional Interfaces.” Such interfaces support crossing between different realities: from being in the physical world and using our existing cognitive and bodily skills, to gradually moving into a virtual reality with more advanced or “magical” skills, and back again.

Welcome, Tiare!

Officially, the winter term 2021/2022 has already started and we are looking forward to a see old and new friends, colleagues, and many students finally back on campus!

First and foremost, we are very happy to welcome Tiare Feuchtner to Konstanz! Tiare joined our team as an Assistant Professor (Jun.-Prof.) and she will focus her research and teaching on novel user interfaces for immersive cross-reality (XR) technologies.

We will kick off this winter term with the traditional lecture series on Friday, 22.10.2021 at 1pm. Here, Jun.-Prof. Dr. Tiare Feuchtner and Prof. Dr. Harald Reiterer will present their research, current lectures, and possible directions for Bachelor and Master projects to new students.

On Monday, 25.10.2021 at 10am, Tiare, Harald, and all research assistants will present current offerings for Bachelor and Master projects as well as corresponding guidelines as part of the weekly HCI Student Jour Fixe.

All additional information on current lectures can be found in our overview post of all events in the winter term 2021/21.
